Late Year Attractions Bring Big Smiles in Depew
Depew, New York is a fantastic visit or live throughout the year, and visitors will find that there is always something fantastic on offer. If you will be in the area near the end of the year, there are certainly a few activities that you will not want to miss out on. From September to December, Depew and the surrounding area offer a number of fantastic events.
The end of year activity begins on Labor Day, when the annual Labor Day Weekend Arts Festival comes to town. Here, a number of local and regional artists show off their amazing talents. From paintings and sculptures to performance art and more, there is something here for everyone to enjoy.
Halloween is another exciting time of year in Depew. Como Park offers their annual Halloween in the Park celebration for people of all ages. Frightworld is another exciting Halloween event in the area, and Cheektowaga offers the thrilling yard of terror to keep the thrills coming.
When November rolls around, it is time for the Annual Christmas Walk. The day starts off with a great breakfast with Santa Claus, and kids will find events and activities to enjoy throughout the day. If you are lucky during the month of December, you will also get to catch the Lancaster Carolers as they make their way throughout the community singing some of the most beautiful and cheerful songs of the holiday season.
While other communities might be largely out of things to do by the end of the year, Depew is just getting started. Depew’s Reinstein Woods Fall Festival Invites Kids to Experience Nature Hands On
When you offer to take your kids somewhere that they can learn, you are apt to be met with a series of groans and pleading. The notion of going on a trip to learn simply doesn’t offer a great deal of appeal. With that in mind, however, helping your children to learn more about nature and the world around them can be easy if you also make it fun. This is where Depew, New York’s Reinstein Woods Fall Festival comes into play.
The fall festival is an annual event with a number of exhibits and participants. People come from all over to explore the nature preserve, which offers many hands on exhibits and experiments for people of all ages to enjoy. There are numerous biologists on site to help explain some of the unique things found on the preserve, and they are able to do so with a sense of fun and excitement that really helps younger guests to enjoy themselves.
Every year, there is one part of the festival that proves more exciting than any other for younger visitors. There is a special exhibit that allows kids to explore a lily pond on the preserve. Each child is given a net and allowed to catch any bugs, frogs, or other critters that they can find. They are then able to take their net of findings to one of the biologists who will offer them unique facts about each creature.
Reinstein Woods is located in Cheektowaga, only a couple of minutes from the Village of Depew. Here, visitors of all ages will find miles of nature trails as well as numerous exotic plants and animals spread among 292 acres of woods. The park offers excitement and entertainment throughout the year, but there is no event quite as magical and appealing to kids as the Fall Festival.

Christmasville in Lancaster Is Truly A Sight to Behold
If you are looking for a great destination for your Christmas vacation this year, then you need to look no further than Lancaster, New York. Every December, the Village of Lancaster turns into Christmasville, where you can see amazing vintage window displays, take in thrilling carols, visit Santa Claus, and even watch a light spectacular that will leave you in awe.
During Christmasville, which begins with a community tree lighting ceremony on November, 28, every store and business is decorated with beautiful lights. Every evening at 7, 8, and 9 PM, music is played throughout the village and the lights on every building will flash and move to the music. This is truly a sight that everyone should see.
There is also a Snow Putt Tournament that will put competitors’ miniature golf skills to the test, as well as live entertainment. Rock and Roll Christmas offers live rock music, trivia contests, food, and more. There is also a chili cook-off on December 19, which is followed by a parade of brilliantly decorated fire trucks.
During this special time of year, the Christmasville Café and Store are also open. Here, visitors can find delicious holiday snacks and beverages. You can also find postcards, gifts, and other holiday goodies to send to all of your loved ones.
As kids, we all dreamed of a magical place where every day was like Christmas. For just over a month, Lancaster, New York makes that dream come true.
